We were a multigenerational family, staying at Leathes Head for a weeks break at the start of the summer holidays. The house is stunning, the location is fabulous and we had a wonderful time. However, we felt that the property could have been cleaner the hot tub was particularly dirty on arrival that the kitchen could have been better equipped, and that the house was in need of a little TLC here and there. We didn't think the house was as private as it seemed on the website there are linked properties at the rear of the house and every day we had lots of visitors either turning up to the house to use the bar and lounge, or just to look at the property and explore the grounds. A gate at the end of the drive would be really beneficial for both privacy and security reasons.

Just returned from a fantastic family holiday 8 adults, a toddler, a baby and a dog at Leathes Head Country House. The property exceeded our expectations. The rooms are all spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The house is set back from the road in a peaceful location, with fantastic views, and with easy access to walks around the lake and The Borrowdale Hotel for Sunday lunch. The inhouse family stocked bar was a big hit for predinner drinks. We enjoyed the outside space and hot tub and werent disturbed by any passersby. Will definitely consider going back again.

Excellent, spacious accomodation and facilities for a wonderful family holiday. We found the App guide detailing everything about the property very useful. The house is really beautiful and lots of care has been taken to prepare the spaces for a wide range of guests, we felt very comfortable from the start. Very good location within striking distance of a wide choice of activities too.

Leathes Head is an ideal property for a mixed family group. Plenty of space both in and out of the house. A very comfortable property with fabulous views.

This was superb accommodation in a great location with everything you could wish for. We all had an excellent week. There are a few small improvements that could be made insufficient cleaning materials eg surface cleaner, surface wipes, dishwasher and laundry tablets parasol on patio was broken. Also, the details should include the fact that there was a bbq and there were multiple fridges so that guests could plan ahead accordingly.

Just home after a fantastic week at Leathes head. Amazing walks from the door, and a knockout house to come back to. We were a party of lads and dads so its safe to say the bar was a real bonus, and the hub of our week. Special mention to Marcell, who looked after us perfectly from start to finish. We will be returning next year.

A beautiful house in a stunning location with easy access to the Fells and only a short distance from Keswick. The property is very well appointed with good size bedrooms, great living spaces and the all important bar! We had a fantastic stay at Leathes Head Country House. The setting is breathtaking surrounded by hills with views in every direction and total peace. You really feel like youve escaped. The house is spacious, cosy, and full of character. We especially loved the hot tub, which has the most incredible view sitting there with a drink at sunset or under the stars was a real highlight. The bedrooms were very comfortable, all with ensuites, and theres a great boot room for muddy walks. We walked straight from the house every days and never used the car. It was everything we needed for a relaxing holiday beautiful, comfortable, and effortlessly enjoyable.

The most wonderful house in a magical location. We had a fabulous stay and were blessed with good weather. The property was immaculately clean and renovated to an exceptional standard. We loved the patio area and hot tub. We visited the Lodore Falls Hotel during our stay who own and manage the house. The hotel is a 2 minute drive from the house and we ate in the Asian restaurant which was superb. All of the staff were fabulous but a particular mention to Marcell who went above and beyond to ensure our time at both the house and the hotel was perfect. We had a wonderful break and were blown away with the property, its surroundings and facilities. The only issue we had was that the waste disposal information could have been clearer and 2 bins we had to put the bin bags in at the end of the stay were insufficient for our needs. There was also no information on recycling policylocal arrangements. If these points were improved the property would score top marks all round.
