Ascending to the first floor, be welcomed into an open-plan living space, with everything you’ll need to prepare and serve nourishing meals, gather as a group, and relax; there’s also a further sitting room to retreat to, complete with a rustling woodburning stove. Completing the first floor is a king-size bedroom with TV, along with a sleek shower room. Continue to the second floor where you’ll find three well-appointed bedrooms, including two king-size bedrooms and a twin, serviced by a bathroom; all beds and linen are of high quality to give you ample rest after your day in the hills! Prepare to explore Cockermouth, which rests on the edge of the Lake District National Park and offers a hub of cafés, independent shops, and restaurants, making it an ideal base for a self-catered stay. Within proximity, enjoy strolls alongside Derwent River, running adjacent castle walls and Wordsworth House (home to William Wordsworth) whose beautiful walled garden inspired poetry. By car reach Keswick and several local fells including Skiddaw, Sale Fell and Ling Fell, whilst activities are plentiful, including golf, walking trails, mountain biking for all types of levels, possible to hire in the area, and visits to the Lake District Wildlife Park; on wet days, be sure to visit the Aquarium at Maryport or brush up on your local knowledge at Keswick Museum.
