Reflection Reviews

Nice place for a little getaway for a few nights.
Nicola
Small but perfect for two and a few days escape. Lovely, quiet setting and friendly owners and dogs. Pictures need updating as the setting is different but for the better I think. Set next to the water below, very private.
Amanda
Really lovely peaceful place really helpful owners that were always there on hand to help with anything you need
Stephanie
The property is located in a beautiful and secluded area, close to a stream with lots of wildlife. Hot tub is always lovely and the bed and bathroom were perfect. The cabin is quite small, with a microwave and electric hob for cooking, and the fridge is small, so pack light, easy to cook meals. Would recommend for a short stay.
Alison
The pod is not in the same location as the photos show, saying that it is more private now, but the outdoor space is much smaller. It is very small but comfy, the only problem really is when you try to make something to eat, there is very little room . We took our Ninja air fryer and I honestly can't imagine being able to cook without it there. Hot tub is immaculate, just watch the steps they are a bit wobbly. I would recommend, it's an unusual place to stay for a couple of nights with a very comfy bed but no bedside tables
Kienan
The photos of the stay need to be updated as the when booked it looks open and has lots of access to sunlight which is not apparent when you get there. . I enjoyed the privacy and quietness of the snug corner but would have been nice to know this before coming. One more thing to state I had to spend 10 minute's looking around to see why the WiFi was not working and how to turn on the heating just turned out nothing was plugged into the router box but other than that was lovely I enjoyed my time there

My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We fell in love with reflection. It had everything we could have needed, was clean and tidy and the bed was lovely and comfortable. We will 100 be back again. One of our favourite things about Reflection was, the hot tub, it was so relaxing sitting and listening to the birds and wildlife of an evening! Bliss! Lovely and close to Carlisle, lots to do there. Lovely local pub in the town of Longtown. Very friendly owners. Close to Gretna also.
Leilani
Great stay, so comfy and cosy, only downfall was the shower floods really really quick and the door kept sliding open
Christine
On the whole our stay was lovely and comfortable for the 3 nights we stayed. Any longer would have been annoying. just a couple of suggestions. some sort of curtainblind on patio doors. Once the sun came up I was awake as it was so light at 4am. a small mirror on the wall in perhaps bedroom area as I need to dry my hair and no where to stand the bathroom mirror. the pictures in the ad suggested that bathroom toiletries are provided, luckily we brought some. These misleading pictures should be removed. at the cottage instructions for tv and internet say signal can be weak, however no watchable picture on tv and internet strength was so poor we never were able to use it, which was not an issue for us but may be for others. first cottage we have ever stayed in and had to go buy washing up liquid. I think it should be in the add that there is nowhere to hang clothes some hooks on bedroom side of bathroom door but these are for the likes of towels or coats or any storage so need to live out of your case during stay. For 3 night this was doable but again any longer would be annoying.

We had a great stay. The property is lovely, in a very nice peaceful location and the Reflection Pod was nice and spacious. The Hot Tub looked over a stream which was very relaxing. It was nice to have a pod which was a bit larger and had a bedroom separate from the living room. The bathroom was a good size also and it had all the facilities you could need. The only downside was there were no toiletries and just one toilet roll we didn't actually bring any shower gel or shampoo so this was a little disappointing. We did raise this the next day and it was down to the cleaning company but unfortunately we still didn't get any toiletries for the next evening. The only other issue was the hot tub there was far too much chlorine which actually caused a reaction and it did spoil the stay a bit. Other than this though the hosts were lovely and it really was a nice location. I would just highly recommend the owners look into the toiletries and the Hot Tubs for any future guests.
Absolutely fabulous relaxing break
Had an amazing stay, very peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone. Very comfy little cabin, clean and tidy. Lovely people who own it, helpful and friendly. 10 out of 10
Perfect little getaway! We stayed for 3 nights and was blown away by the location. Stunning area. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side, but we were very excited to see the hot tub now has a shelter built over it which suited us perfectly! The pictures here really need to be updated.. it's alot more private than the photos suggest, with a thick hedge one side, separating it from the property next door, and a privacy fence enclosing the rear and the hot tub side. As you open the doors in the morning, you are greeted with a gorgeous view of a stream, and if you're lucky you may see deer up on the hill opposite. All in all, our stay was perfect. Thanks Trevor and Danielle!

Such a relaxing little getaway! Thank you so much for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hot tub was fabulous and the beautiful countryside was so calming. IF we had to be super picky some of the photos of the outside could do with updating as unfortunately, there was no outdoor shower as in the pictures on the website. Would 100 recommend, the hosts were super lovely too, can't wait to be back!!!

Jacqueline
The first thing we noticed was that the Pod had been moved from it's original site on the photo. The site it was now situation on was enclosed with fencing which made it very private which was great however, it didn't have the shower outside which could be used to shower before and after using the Hot tub. The step into the hot tub was very unstable when getting in and out. This was probably due to the slate covering the whole surface being uneven. The Pod itself was lovely, my only criticism was that the way it was facing had no light into the living area at all. We had to put lights on all day and it still wasn't very bright. The bedroom which had a dividing wall was beautiful and light all day because it had a sky light letting the light in. The property was nice and clean and well equipped.
Lovely setting, private and peaceful. It is a 'micro' lodge so be prepared for the lack of room, however, it is well equipped with crockery, utensils, tea towels, towels, washing up liquid, etc. There is a single cooking plate but would have been better getting rid of the useless breakfast bar and rejigging to fit in a proper hob. With this in mind you have to be organised with what you're doing for meals. The nearest shop is a drive away or eat out. The bed was comfortable, so looking at past reviews they have addressed this with a mattress topper. The hot tub is now fully enclosed and private, although they have given in to putting a roof over it which, for me, spoilt the experience of gazing up to the stars. My only real beef throughout the stay was the lack of WiFi, there is wifi but you can't connect to it at all, not to sit endlessly on my phone, enjoyed the break from it, but to not have emergency contact with children if needed was a big negative.
Abigail
We really enjoyed our stay, it was very private and the grounds were beautiful, only downsides for us was there was no service in the room and there wasnt a lot of space for us to keep our things but apart from that it was amazing. We met the owners and they were both lovely and very welcoming to us, I would recommend this place to anybody, it was lovely.
Exquisite little micro lodge in a really rural and quiet location. Perfect for a romantic stay away from all the hustle and bustle of normal day life. Trevor was a Gent of a host and we were left alone to enjoy the peace and tranquility
Alfred
Wonderful place for a short escape from reality. Private and intimate. Perfect
Lovely place to stay, staff and owners great. Had a perfect stay, thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and was lovely to see the new year in whilst staying in reflection. The location was beautiful and was such a relaxing environment. Not a bad thing to say, 3 nights wasnt long enough we didnt want to come home. We will definitely be coming back.
Charlotte
We had a fab stay at the reflection we had the perfect weather to enjoy the hot tub. The only small down fall was the mattress is un comfy & wifi is only accessible outside but thats no big issue when your getting away from it all. We would definitely book here again.
We had a great time at reflection great location, just a few tweeks to this cabin would take it from very good to amazing . . a new mattress is badly needed as it is so worn the springs jag through lol and maybe some blinds on the french doors to stop the light coming in morning, and possibly even the slightest bit of wifi would be ideal , ut other than these minor things its an amazing cabin with great facilities and a perfect location its rural enough for peace and quiet but a 20 min drive from the town centre we will definitely visit again thanks
Alannah
Me and my husband stayed for 3 nights. Amazing microcabin. Very clean and tidy. It is smaller than it looks on the pictures, we wasn't able to use the 'breakfast bar' as a small fridge in now under it. I think that area would be better used as storage and a fold down table be located under the TV as there is a storage box shelf there. Private hot tub is now completely screened off and a chimney with firewood provided. The grounds are large and you're free to walk around, and you walk out thr drive and go on some beautiful walks. As you arrive the property it can be felt that you're in someones back garden, however the grounds are so large you can completely relax and not see anyone after arrival. The owners Trevor and Danielle were fantastic and went through everything when we arrived. An added bonus they have 2 beautiful dogs that are friends and love a cuddle. If you are extremely tall or require any additional room as this is a micro cabin you may not be as comfortable as this beautiful cabin can provide. Would highly recommend staying here.
Just arrived back from a 3 night stay at Reflection for our wedding anniversary. Had an amazing few days relaxing in the hot tub, going for country walks and snuggling up in the evening with a film. The reflection is a lovely little cosy home from home and had everything you would need for a break away. Whilst there we also enjoyed a day out to Carlisle and a trip to Gretna Green which are both nearby. Would definitely recommend!
Beautiful place, and property felt like a home away from home will hopefully be back in the near future
Lauren
We have returned home from a few nights staying in this property. First impressions wow. Beautiful settingscenery. The property is set above a beck, just sat outside listening to the water was so calming and relaxing. Hot tub was ready for us on arrival. Complementary bottle of fizz! The owners were so welcoming and friendly. River Esk 30 minute walk which is beautiful! We also visited Gretna Green which was only 10 minutes drive away. All in all very enjoyable stay. Zero signal though but we actually enjoyed switching off.
Me and my husband recently stayed here for our honeymoon and wow! What a beautiful unique place! So tidy and cosy! Yeah its on the small side but it's not supposed to be a huge mansion, it was just right! Trevor and Danielle are so lovely and welcoming! We even had a little gift of a bottle of bubbly which was a lovely touch! The beds are super comfy, best few nights sleep we've ever had! I know people say they look forward to their own bed but honestly we miss this bed! The hot tub was heated for our arrival and it was amazing sat in the hot tub on the night looking into the beautiful night sky! There's no signal and poor Internet connection but we didn't care, we was there to enjoy each others company and to take in the surroundings! There was coffee, milk and sugar available for us and also hot chocolate and marshmallows to enjoy by the chimnea. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we couldn't recommend 'reflection' enough! And we definitely want to stay again! Thank you for an amazing and memorable honeymoon!
Alexandra
The property was lovely for a short stay, due to its size we wouldnt have wanted to stay longer than three nights. It would have been better if the portable hob provided had two rings rather than just one, although there is not much room to cook anyway. We loved the hot tub and the chiminea and the little details like the outside lights. We didnt use the decking as it was a bit green some is expected due to the area but it did look like it hadnt been cleaned for a while. The wifi didnt reach Refelction, however this wasnt a massive deal for us as we were looking for a bit of a break from the outside world. Overall we had a really lovely stay, it was comfortable and in a beautiful setting which is what we wanted.
Aleksandra
Amazing place to stay for a vacation, the owners are extremely friendly and accommodating, they picked us up from carlsisle which was a huge relief as we were worried about our travel, they lent us their electric bikes so that we could explore and told us about interesting places to visit, couldnt be happier with our stay there. 1110
We had a lovely 3 night stay at reflection, the perfect break away to unwind and relax. Everywhere was spotless and we couldnt fault it.
Kamila
Lovely place, really private and relaxing! Perfect little getaway. Has everything you need and the hot tub was lush. Owners were really accommodating when we were running really late and explained perfectly how to get to the place. Definitely recommended!!
Daniel
Had a lovely stay very relaxing would definitely stay again
Georgia
Lovely stay with a lovely cabin. Very clean and had everything we needed. Would have been better if there was a cover over the hot tub as it was very windy and cold. Also there is no blind on the french doors so it didnt feel private as you could see the bed from outside.
Loved staying here! So relaxing. Can't wait to visit again soon!
Really lovely welcoming owners who made it clear they were approachable, but also really respected our privacy. A superb stay from start to end. Hidden gem.
Rebecca
A lovely gem for a threenight break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Kayleigh
We had a lovely break staying at Reflection. The location is great, clean and the facilities were exactly what we needed. Thanks so much!
