Eskdale Retreat is a luxury holiday home in Boot, Cumbria. This grand former vicarage sits on 10 acres of woodland and meadows in the Lake District National Park. Perfect for large groups with room for 16 guests across 8 bedrooms. The property combines modern luxury with traditional Lake District character. Wainwright himself called this "one of the loveliest of Lakeland's valleys" - and he wasn't wrong.

The location is brilliant. You've got rugged hills, fells, lakes and even the coast all within reach. Four pubs dot the valley, with two just a short walk away. Fancy getting wet? Try canoeing, kayaking, or wild swimming. More of a land-lover? The area offers incredible hiking, biking and climbing opportunities. After a day out, sink into the hot tub with a favourite drink.

The main house features six beautifully designed bedrooms - Scafell with its copper bath, Bela Tarn with purple décor, spacious Great Howe, bright Hardknott, woodland-themed Green Crag and La'al Ratty with adult-sized bunks. The Coach House adds two more rooms - Whillan Beck with its black stone bath and ground-floor Stanley Ghyll. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, so no awkward hallway dashes in your towel!

Nearby, you'll find Muncaster Castle (5 miles, 12 minutes), Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway (3 miles, 8 minutes), Wastwater Lake (5 miles, 15 minutes) and Scafell Pike (7 miles, 20 minutes). Perfect for day trips before returning to your luxury base.
