Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway (5.5 miles, 12 mins), Muncaster Castle (11 miles, 20 mins), Hardknott Roman Fort (11 miles, 25 mins) and Wastwater (6.5 miles, 15 mins) are all within easy reach.
