Knock Murton Lodge, Cockermouth

We had an excellent stay. The Lodge itself was spotlessly clean and all the amenities and services worked perfectly. The welcome given by Chris and Barbara was fabulous and the facilities were fully explained. This supplemented the ample documentation located in the lodge. We were than left to ourselves and no further contact was required. They were of course available if needed. The welcome chocolates and snacks were very much appreciated. This Lodge is extremely private with wonderful open views to the fields at the front with only an occasional passing sheep wandering by. Also located at the front are large seating/eating areas with BBQ facilities. The Outdoor Hot Tub and Sauna suite (inc Shower, WC and Changing area) are also located at the front and were magnificently maintained and spotlessly clean. These provided welcome relief when the weather didn't fully cooperate. It is worth re-emphasising all these facilities are specific to this lodge and are not shared with or visible from the lodge next door. Not much in the way of local facilities but the lovely town of Cockermouth is only about a 10-15 minute drive away and there is an excellent Pub/Restaurant even nearer being only a 5 minute drive away. My only cautionary note is that given that one of the 2 bedrooms is occupied by bunk beds I don't think it is really suitable for 4 fully grown adults.Will we return.......Definately !!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Chris Spencer the person who is responsible for the cottage made sure our stay is fully comfortable and the hot tub and sauna is a brilliant addition. Nice and secluded yet shops and ev charging stations are accessible in just 8 minutes drive. I would totally recommend it.
