Delmonte in Langwathby, Eden Valley

Spacious cottage all on one level, in a lovely location with lovely views and the added bonus of a hot tub.The Settle to Carlisle railway line is visible from the house,so if you are lucky,you get to see the steam trains that run past and Langwathby station is a 5min walk away. Great location to visit the quieter North Lakes.The cottage is a bit dated,the outside could do with updating as could the windows as some are single glazed and prone to condensation build up.We found that it was not as clean as it could be,dust/dirt around the edges of the bathroom/kitchen floor,stained towels,dirty saucepans that quite obviously had not been checked in between stays.The saucepans were either massive or too small and the table and chairs in the kitchen were very wobbly.A lot of the knives had their points missing .Had to hunt for the manuals on how to use the cooker etc,no record of electrical items or fire alarms being recently checked.The loo brush was disgusting as were the old brush and mop in the utility area.The fridge freezer needs replacing as it ran too cold and the freezer didn't look like it had ever been defrosted.Providing basics like washing up liquid,sponge,tea,coffee would have been nice and more teaspoons would have been usefulWe did enjoy our stay and appreciated the heating being on overnight when the temperature dropped,even though it was August but i'm not sure we will be back which is a shame as it wouldn't take much to improve things

Absolutely fabulous, cottage was so spacious, comfortable and quiet it suited us all, family of 4, 2 teenagers in party!! We loved relaxing in hot tub looking at the scenery it was spectacular. Local village just at bottom of hill with The Shepherds Inn, nice place to eat and a Nisa local with your everyday needs. Perfectly situated to explore the area will definitely be back ????
